EPA Regulations for Disinfectants and Sanitizers

n order to protect the user and environment from potential hazards, manufacturers of disinfectants and sanitizers are required to label their products with certain information. They must also let the user know how and where to use the product.

Here is a list of the EPA Label Requirements:

  • Product name, brand or trademark

  • Name and address of manufacturer

  • Restricted Use Statement (if required)

  • Signal Word (if required) (Danger, Warning, Caution)

  • Ingredient Statement

  • Directions for use

  • Precautionary and First Aid Statements, including hazards to humans and domestic animals and environmental hazards

  • Storage and disposal statements

  • Net weight or measure of contents

  • EPA Registration Number and EPA Establishment Number
